NEW CURRENT WORKS’ T79XXX — a WWII-spec 501XX reproduction, cut and sewn in Kojima, Kurashiki, the home of Japanese denim. 13.5oz selvedge. “RIGID” is the model name; the pair has been given a single wash, so the starch is out and the fit has already settled. What you measure is what you get — no guessing at shrinkage, no soaking before you can wear them.
The indigo is untouched otherwise. No vintage-effect wash, no distressing, no fake whiskers — the fades are still yours to put in. Straight leg, mid rise, button fly with a donut top button, concealed rivets: the details the wartime originals were actually built with.
The tag says W30 x L30, but the actual inseam measures 31 inches.
The hem is original and untouched — this is simply how the pair measures.

NEW CURRENT WORKS is a small Japanese label that came up through the fishing scene rather than the fashion one — short runs, largely handmade, most of it built to order. The T79XXX is what happens when a brand like that walks into a Kojima sewing factory and asks for a wartime 501XX done properly: no vintage-effect washes, no shortcuts, the right hardware. It is a quiet name outside Japan, and that is most of the appeal.
