About the brand
Freemans Sporting Club is a menswear label founded in 2004 by Taavo Somer and William Tigertt, growing out of a group of friends who gathered above Freemans Restaurant on New York’s Lower East Side. The original shop combined a men’s store, barbershop and tailor under one roof, and the brand went on to open outposts in San Francisco and Tokyo alongside the New York flagship — the three cities named on this pair’s leather patch. God of Denim was Freemans Sporting Club’s own house denim line from that era, made in Fukuyama, Japan.
