WASEW

WASEW is a Japanese fashion brand founded in 2018 in Osaka by designer Kawanami. His passion for fashion was sparked at the age of 12 when he visited Amerikamura in Osaka with his denim-loving father, where he encountered a diverse range of fashion and culture. After graduating from a fashion design school, he worked at the renowned Japanese denim brand FULL COUNT, deepening his understanding of denim and jeans, which later became the foundation of WASEW.

The Story

WASEW is driven by the belief that the joy of selecting, purchasing, and wearing clothing is a timeless value that transcends generations. While the brand remains committed to Made in Japan craftsmanship, it also embraces an American casual aesthetic, creating garments that feel effortless yet meticulously crafted. In 2012, he founded a sewing company, and in 2018, three years after conceiving the idea, he finally completed the fabric for his ideal T-shirt.

This is a precious fabric produced by a traditional loopwheeler, which is only in operation in Wakayama, Japan. The production speed is one-tenth of the usual speed, and only 1 meter can be woven per hour. However, because it is woven with a lot of air, it is very comfortable to wear.
