Fabric
The jacket uses a 15.3oz natural indigo, low-tension selvedge denim custom-made in Okayama, Japan.
It is woven from 100% long-staple Zimbabwe cotton using original slubby warp and weft yarns.
The warp is rope-dyed with 100% natural indigo, leaving a strong white core for contrast fading, and the selvedge ID is dyed a custom faded red.
The denim is slowly woven on vintage shuttle looms at low tension, creating a rich, uneven texture and a deep indigo tone.
Natural indigo provides deodorizing, antibacterial, and insect-repelling properties, along with a uniquely deep color that synthetic indigo cannot replicate.
Fit
Based on a late-1940s Type I (506XX) denim jacket but updated for modern wear.
The TK991 keeps the vintage look while adjusting shoulder width, sleeve shape, cuff dimensions, and body balance for a cleaner slim fit.
The cuffs are sized to allow wearing a wristwatch comfortably, a functional upgrade from the vintage pattern.
Fading
Designed to create fading between WWII โroughโ XX denim and post-war cleaner XX denim.
Fading begins as point fades, then broken vertical lines, eventually forming long โrailroadโ fades with high contrast.

Hardware & Details
- Solid brass tack buttons darken from gold to deep bronze over time.
- Solid copper rivets patina from bright copper to purple-brown, eventually developing green oxidation.
- Full-color leather patch develops cracking and exposes the underlayer for a vintage patina.
