Description
La Jolla 727 is a slim fit, tapered leg jean inspired by American denim from the 1960s. It features a close fit through the waist and thigh, with a natural taper toward the hem — a clean, modern silhouette rooted in vintage style.
The construction showcases Stevenson’s attention to detail, using single-needle felled seams throughout. This traditional method — often found in jeans from before the 1920s — is used even on the belt loops, back pockets, and coin pocket, all of which are gently curved for a distinctive, tailored look.
The fabric is a 13oz original selvedge denim woven on vintage shuttle looms using hand-picked Zimbabwe cotton. Left unsanforized (loomstate) and without chemical finishing, the fabric has a naturally uneven texture and a slightly greenish-blue cast as it fades — hallmarks of old-school denim that only get better with time.
If you’re looking for a jean that blends sharp construction, classic taper, and beautifully aging denim, the La Jolla 727 is built for you.
