Description
The uneven threads characteristic of pre-shrunk denim from the 1960s are reproduced in an exquisite balance. At the same time, no processing other than shrinkage prevention is done, so the twist and texture of the fabric after washing are the same as vintage. Once the brand moves on to the next era, previous models will not be reproduced.
Vintage Construction Details
- Paper Patch: Faithfully reproduced with large vintage-style lettering and typography. A PRE-SHRUNK tag is also attached, matching original details.
- Back Pockets: Long and oversized vertical pockets. Intentional left-right asymmetry, including a folded and stitched corner on the right pocket, reproduces the natural individual differences found in vintage hand-sewn jeans.
- Zipper: Equipped with a vintage-style 42 TALON zipper.
- Red Tab: Original rayon red tab developed exclusively for MEPSE & Co., sewn in the same position and manner as vintage originals.
- Outseam: Selvedge construction along the outseam.
- Rivets: Custom MEPSE & Co. engraved rivets. The backs are made of aluminum, replicating the transition seen in original jeans from the 1960s.
- Top Button (Back Side): Top button is hand-stamped with the number “5,” referencing the sampled vintage piece produced at Factory No. 5.
Fading Sample
The images below show how the denim fades over time. These jeans were worn and washed regularly to reflect realistic aging. Please note: fading will vary depending on lifestyle and washing habits.
