Wear the Story: An Evolution of the “WWII Model”
The “4501 ORDER CRAFT DENIM” is built on a unique narrative concept: “A nameless poet working at the Levi’s factory in 1945 quits after the war to find his own path. To prepare for his journey west, he creates his own pair of jeans using the skills he learned.”
Inspired by the iconic S501XX “World War II Model” (1942–1945), this pair captures the transition toward the legendary “1947 Model.” It balances the minimalist, rugged details caused by wartime material shortages with a refined silhouette tailored for modern style, using 13.5oz uneven slub selvedge denim.
Intentional Imperfection: The “Loose Thread” Finish
A standout feature of this pair is the intentional “thread-end” treatment. To mimic the rapid, raw production style of the 1940s—where skilled labor was scarce—certain threads are purposely left uncut. This is not a defect, but a calculated design choice to recreate the authentic, powerful atmosphere of vintage “Big E” denim.
Extreme Rarity: Handcrafted in Small Batches
Because a single craftsman handles every stage of production using six dedicated sewing machines, the production volume is incredibly low. This makes Naturals. one of the most exclusive brands, seldom seen in Japanese retail stores and nearly impossible to find outside of Japan.
Moto Fujikawa Personal Order: No. 074
This specific unit, Serial No. 074, was personally ordered by Moto Fujikawa of mtkn.nl (Amsterdam). The entire making-of process was documented in real-time. You can witness the soul poured into these jeans through the artisan’s Instagram archives:
